****** HELP WANTED -- SIMECENTER

Friends, Simes, Tecton citizens: I've been maintaining the SimeCenter for five years, as of this month. I'd like to hand it off to a worthy successor...or at least start training an assistant.

It's not a hard task. We have a good backlog of stories and art that have been donated. There are HTML templates for all the code elements that get changed each month, and a WORK file on the domain to test the changes before they go live.

Maybe you don't want to take over. That's okay. Want to learn to program in HTML? and how to upload and test pages on the web? I could use the help.

It's a good way to start off a career as a webwright. (I had never even SEEN HTML when I started. If I can do it, anyone who is basically comfortable with a computer can do it.) Working on SimeCenter will give you valuable experience, that you can put in your resume.

If you even vaguely think you are interested...let's talk.

Kaires Tevesu
SimeCenter Gatemaster
or you may write to Simegen@simegen.com for more details.

****** SIMECENTER NEWS ******

We have a charming new story this month, told in verse:

The Ogre Who Held Up the Sky (by Lois June Wickstrom) wherein a tiny child makes a mighty change in her world

The accompanying artwork is:

Cave Painting (by G.B. Chew) ...which isn't at all what it sounds like

These highly enjoyable works were donated in support of the Modest Needs and their continuing assistance to survivors of last year's devastating hurricanes.

When you donate to this worthy organization, be sure to tell them you were referred by SimeCenter.

See it at all at http://www.simegen.com/simecenter/ .

******BORDERLANDS UPDATE

Part 19 of the Borderlands scenario, "A Walk in the Woods," is now online at http://www.simegen.com/sgfandom/fans/bev/boom/index.html#part.19 .

Closely following on Part 18, Part 19 reports on the further adventures of Hajene Katsura and Nick Reckage as they escape Nick's old enemies and circuitously make their way back to civilization, acquiring a new friend or two on the way.

In sidebars, we see some old friends, including Senator Pollovic, the Sime reporter Triangusul, Colonel Pistachio, and World Controller Jaklin ambrov Imil. By special request, Gitl, the cook at the Hannard's Ford Sime Center, gets her own episode.

Read and enjoy. You know the rules: send comments if you want more!

*******JACQUELINE'S GOOD HEALTH NEWS

The doctor let me take the black-boot cast off when walking around the house and while sleeping, but I still need to wear it if I go out to a mall or whatever. Two more weeks of that, and I start the long haul of getting my muscles to work again.

Altogether, things are looking up.
