******BORDERLANDS UPDATE

Part 15 of the Borderlands RPG scenario, "Healing Old Wounds, Finding New Hope" is now at http://www.simegen.com/sgfandom/fans/bev/boom/index.html#part.15 . This is a fairly short part, mostly focused on winding up the Gegg arc and planting the seeds for various new arcs to come. We also have a mini-arc in which we see Barrysboy Fox's village up close, and some familiar characters in unfamiliar situations.

Over a year has passed since Aurora, escaped the Candidacy with Bain to Canada. Life amongst the Resistance, however, does not bring peace as Ren, Angel, Bain and Aurora find out in the sequel to EPPIE and DREAM REALM finalist Browne Candidate, Zephyr Unfolding.

"Zephyr Unfolding is a skillfully-plotted, roller-coaster ride of a story, packed with action and suspense, love and betrayal. It kept me turning pages long into the night!" --Jeanne Allen, author of Orphilion Dreams.

******SimeCenter News - September 2005

Our readers get a special treat this month:
- THREE new stories and THREE new artworks
- two new recipients, devoted to helping Katrina's victims

Our own Jean Lorrah wrote a plea to EPIC and SWFA, asking members to contribute stories for this important effort. Then I plagiarized her letter, and contacted all the authors and artists who contributed to SimeCenter in the past.

The response was overwhelming...generous people, eager to help!

In addition, LAST month's contributing author and artist allowed me to transfer their works to the new recipients. So you really get FOUR opportunities to 'Read a Good Story' or 'Get a Good Eyefull' (as artist G.B.Chew expressed it) and 'Do a Good Deed.'

---

The two recipients in this issue, are:
- American Red Cross
- Salvation Army

When you see their webpages, you will see that they are both entirely committed to assisting the victims of this terrible disaster. (Be sure to tell them you were 'referred' by SimeCenter!)

---

In the art deparment...

We have two lovely works by Michael Cox:
- The Journey (which may have remained unfinished)
- The Lighthouse (an unexpectedly forlorn image)

And G.B.Chew offers two very different works:
- Embattled Pixie (defending, in many dimensions)
- Brain Tree (showing that all life is connected)

These two artists are both gentle and loving people, judging from their EMail communications. Both have freely offered their magnificent creations to help our featured recipients, month after month, year after year.

SimeCenter is pleased and honored to offer their works for your enjoyment.

---

And stories...

Ardath Mayhar contributes "Ratings War" (an intriguing look at the not-too-distant future).

Lois June Wickstrom--who, BTW, managed Simecenter through its first year of existence--has allowed us to serialize her latest book, "The Reluctant Spy." (now available on Cafe Press ).

Michelle Levigne--one who responded to Jean's SWFA plea--sent "Norbra" (A First Civ Story, Part of the Commonwealth Universe).

Finally, you have another chance to enjoy "Brain Wave" by Stuart & Jennifer Palmer (which explains a lot about the 60's).

---

Posting these exciting new contributions is a challenge, because our global page format doesn't want to accept multiple recipients, stories, and artwork.

I'm posting it in segments: the rerouted August donations first. That's done. Then the new material. I assure you, the whole amazing construct will be there SOON...soon with only two Oh's, which means within a day. (Our Webmaster McGyver'd up a technical solution; I just have to organize myself to use it.)

Please be generous in supporting these worthy organizations. Please enjoy the stories and artwork. (And please tell me if you find any problems with the site, or can suggest improvements.)

In Service to Unity, Kaires
