Angelique Trouvere writes:

I’ll always remember Joan for her kindness to me and others. Her willingness to make sure that the shyest fan felt included in the fun -- and Joan was always ready for fun! She was funny and a true "one in a million!"
I will always miss her.

Hi Angee,

I am so sorry to hear about Joan. I did not know her well. We only met a couple of times, but I can remember a time when I was setting up in the dealers room at an early convention and even though she barely knew me, she came over and gave me a great big hug and offered me a plate of cookies! I will also always remember when I heard about (after she had had a mastectomy) she appeared in a World Con costume contest as an Amazon! I remember thinking, she was the bravest, most honest woman in the world.
