The Star Trek Connection Underlying Everything On This Site
The Re-Readable Collection Of SF&F
Sime~Gen fan artist Kip Grimes |
I grew up with it since my Mother is a big Star Trek fan. I would come
home from school and sit on the floor in front of our black and white TV
and watch it while eating a snack. In the 7th grade my friends and I made
a silent Star Trek movie and I played Lieutenant Uhura! We had cardboard
props with flashing lights and the works. I have seen all of the movies
and my children grew up on Star Trek both on the television and on the big
screen. What I think draws people to Star Trek is the optimistic future of
mankind and the close bond of the characters. It gives hope. I believe
that Star Trek has inspired many people to create their own universes in
many different artistic forms. It sparks the imagination and who know
where a kid sitting in front of a black and white television can go from
there?
