GRAB THE COFFEE:

THIS IS AN ALL NIGHT READ

CONTEMPORARY,   SUSPENSE,   FANTASY, SHAPESHIFTER,   VAMPIRE

CONTEMPORARY:

Contemporary

Reading this story I found myself sympathizing with the main character. This is a story of a woman who chooses to live her life different from the norm. For many reasons some good and some not she has chosen a solitary life which is totally contradictory to the norm for the town Leslie lives in. For years she has been living a single and solitary life.

What Leslie never realized until recently is she is a very compulsive recluse. She rarely socializes, doesn’t have anyone sleep over and can not stand clutter. Slowly Leslie’s life seems to fall apart until she finally decides it’s time to put herself back together. Leslie is terrified of ending up like Aunt Grace, dying alone in an insane asylum somewhere.

This was one fear that seemed to turn out to the good for Leslie. Over the telling of this story you will see a woman that goes from unhealthy compulsive behaviors to a woman who is learning to live life. This story is very endearing. It was one that I originally hadn’t thought I would like, and was refreshingly surprised.

SHAPESHIFTER:

Shapeshifter-Mystery

Mystery is afoot. One day out of the blue author Jackson Rutledge gets an email from old friend Sabrina Ostreling. The email is an urgent request to meet her. This can’t be something good. Every time Jackson answers Sabrina’s call bad things happen. Like the last time at The Butterfly House. Even more curious is when he meets her she is like a totally different woman.

The normally uptight woman is now wearing makeup and acting very sexy. Definitely not the normal Sabrina, even more weird she asks him to make love to her. The only time that has happened it was when she was possessed so to speak. But that’s another story and another book. Jackson sneaks out of Sabrina’s room thinking she is drunk, and that she would regret it her forwardness in the morning.

After leaving he decides to get coffee in the coffee shop. There he gets an even bigger surprise, Sabrina is at the dinner drinking coffee looking like her normal self. Thus the mystery begins.

There are desiccated husks, of what used to be humans being found. There’s a creature that can shapeshift into whatever it chooses and someone or is it someone after Jackson and Sabrina. What is it that ties all this together? That’s what Sabrina and Jackson set about to investigate and find out. I enjoyed this book very much and it just wet my appetite for more from this author.

FANTASY:

Fantasy-Demons and Angels

I have long been a fan of White Wolf Fiction’s vampire books, so I was absolutely thrilled when given the chance to review for them. I am finding that their other series are just as enthralling. Unfortunately I have not had the chance to read book one so must start the story from this book on.

This book is about Gaviel a smooth talking demon that has invaded the body of a prominent preacher’s son. Gaviel has managed to escape from hell and has no intentions of going back. It seems that the angels are at war with the demons. Earth has become a battlefield for all. Gaviel for one is just trying to make himself a decent life on earth. However the demon Avitu is looking to force him into joining her and the avenging angel Usiel is trying to send Gaviel back to hell. How is a demon supposed to get any peace with all the turbulence? As if that’s not enough, Noah Wallace the true owner of the body Gaviel inhabits is forever trying to make Gaviel give it back.

There are various storylines within this book. I found myself siding with some of the demons and not wanting to see them killed. This book will definitely give you a break from reality for a while. Which in my opinion is what a good book should do.

SUSPENSE

This is the story of Megan a young registered nurse who would have liked to become a doctor. However due to financial and personal issues she decides to take a different route. Megan is offered and takes the opportunity to become a pacemaker sales rep. Megan finds she is the sole female among many male colleagues. Though Megan does not let this stop her from being the best sales rep she can be.

The first job Megan gets turns out badly. Her boss has been taking credit for her work. Megan then chooses to leave and go with another company. Over time Megan is able establish a nice clientele base within her assigned territory. But success never comes without a price. Megan finds that some reps are not so ethical. Case in point what her ex boss did. If that’s not bad enough he has been spreading rumors about her in order take her business. Megan also finds that it’s not necessarily the best pacemaker that wins, but the one who wines and dines the doctor best.

Another problem she must deal with is the fact that a colleague in the same company is having a hard time accepting that a woman could do better than him. And last but not least someone is out to kill Megan. Somehow conveniently food she is deathly allergic too has found its’ way into Megan’s meals, almost killing her.

I found this book interesting. Even more interesting however was when reading the author’s bio the book had uncanny similarities to her own life. It made me wonder how much came from truth and how much was fiction.

Vampire-Horror

This is book one to what looks to be a very promising series.

The story begins with Cassandra and two of her get killing two teenagers and taking a third captive. Cassandra is a vampire that has been banished to live alone for seventy-five years for killing another vampire and her child. Cassandra was abused as a human and due to that abuse become a very vicious vampire. She killed Amanda for one reason only she wanted Amanda’s husband Donovan as well as her power.

Cassandra was forbidden to make more of her kind during her banishment however she has ignored those commands. In her viciousness she takes this teenager enslaves and abuses him, drinks his blood as well as other horrible things. Donovan has been trying to keep tabs on Cassandra’s activities since she killed his family. He knows her and knows that she has no regard for authority so will ignore all directives.

When Donovan suspects what Cassandra has done he heads out to investigate. But instead of finding evidence so he can put and end to what she has done he becomes her prisoner as well. Thus the teenage boy Wade and Donovan meet. They do what they can to escape.

There is much more than just this to the story but for the sake of mystery I will say no more. I will say I enjoyed reading this book and put off writing my reviews so I could finish it. Once the reader begins reading they will be compelled to follow this story to the end.

  FALLEN ANGELS: RAFE'S HEART
CINDY GENGLER

Vampire-Romance

This is a book that is unusual in a few different respects. Just one of those is that it mixes vampires with fairies. I found this an interesting story as well as mix of characters. It has all the elements of a good book love, betrayal and action just to name a few. This story is built around three men Gabriel Arden, Michael Wyhndym and Rapheal Fahlan whom have been friends for many years. The three have a secret that none may know. The three men are vampires. These men were turned against their will and through the betrayal and loss of a dear friend. Through the years their friend ship has endured. However many things are about to happen that may test that friendship and very possibly even lead to the severing of the three friends. Raphael must face his growing attraction to Montgomery Sinclair the head of the security firm they just hired. Gabriel must come to terms with his love and disgust of the vampire fairy that saved his life but damned him to vampirism. Michael must come to terms with the fact that when his two friends find out his secret they may hate him for eternity. Mixed in all this is an evil vampire that would have them dead should he get to them, and the woman who is not necessarily always evil that caused the three to be a vampire. This leaves for a very interesting story. I feel I could not do the true story justice in this review, however I can say it's a definite must read. I myself am hoping to see more from this author.

During this book Alana learns many things some good and some bad, but all of them in one way or another changer her. This story is well worth taking the time to read.
