Chey: Thanks for inviting me, Goldie. I’m
excited to be here!
Q: Firstly, if you could tell us about
yourself and why you decided to become a
writer?
A: I can remember wanting to be a writer
from the time I was in elementary school. I loved books and loved to read.
You could find me with my nose in a book constantly. I loved to get lost
in stories and I wanted so badly to write books, to be able to create
stories that the reader would enjoy just as much as I enjoyed what I was
reading.
I also loved to write so much that
class creative writing assignments would often turn into mini books. I can
remember writing one in 8th grade that turned out to be over 30 pages
long. The class wanted to know what happened at the end, but I hadn’t
figured that out yet. Never did finish it. Something to do with aliens and
spaceships and twin girls, I think!
Q: Could you give us a brief
description of your book?
A: Wonderland: King of Hearts
is my 8th release with Ellora’s Cave. My first book with EC was published
in January.
In King of Hearts, Alice is having the day from hell
when she walks in on her fiancé having a threesome. She storms out and by
the time she cools off she’s ended up in a park where she spots a white
rabbit. Next thing you know she’s tumbled down a rabbit hole and ends up
in the Kingdom of Hearts with a gorgeous man. One of Alice’s fantasies is
to be submissive to a dominate man, and is Jarronn ever the dominant
man!
The story is really more than just the development of
Jarronn’s and Alice’s relationship. It’s about Alice learning to accept
herself for who she is, and learning to love her body. She’s full-figured
and never thought of herself as beautiful. But Jarronn does, and he
teaches her to realize her own inner and outer
beauty.
Q: King of Hearts is the first book in the
Wonderland series featuring four kings who live in the land of Tarok. This
story is about Jarronn, the King of Hearts. Could you describe the
four kings for us?
A: Jarronn is the eldest of
the four brothers and reigns as High King of Tarok as well as the Kingdom
of Hearts. He’s very dominant, very in control. Everything he does is for
what is best for his people, and he is doing everything he can to break
the curse over all the kingdoms of Tarok.
Darronn, the King of Spades
is Jarronn’s twin and is younger by just a few hours. He’s a real bad boy
on the surface, but inside he’s caring and concerned for the future of his
people. He’s used to getting what he wants, and he’s used to submissive
women. Alexi is anything but submissive and their relationship is stormy
from the very beginning.
The Kingdom of Diamonds is ruled by Karn,
and is the third brother. Karn is hard to read on the surface and is very
good at keeping his emotions hidden. He’s dominant, too, but has a gentle
side that few have seen.
Ty, the King of Clubs, is the youngest
brother. He has a teasing personality and is on the mischievous side, so
it’s easy to misjudge him. He’s quick-witted, intelligent, and a master
strategist. Not to mention quite dominate as
well.
Q: In the beginning of the story, we have
Jarronn choosing his mate by the turn of the cards, literally! Why
did it have to be done this way?
A: Kalina, the
sorceress, foretells the future of the Tarok realm by a set of cards that
have been handed down from her predecessors. Her magic is far more
powerful than any sorcerers before her. With the cards Kalina learns why
the women of Tarok are sterile, and what it will take to break the
mind-spell that has been placed on them. That involves bringing in women
who have not been subjected to the mind-spell. The kings’ mates are
predetermined by the cards, but the kings learn who they are only by the
turn of a card.
Q: I found the bonding ceremony very
interesting. Will that be something that will be done with each of
the brothers, or was it just for Alice?
A: Alice was to be
High Queen, and as such she would be subject to more dangers than any
mates of the lesser kings. The bonding ceremony was necessary so that each
of the kings would know at once if she was in danger.
In answer to
your question, no that won’t happen with all the future queens. Each one
will have their fantasies fulfilled in other ways. There may be ménages,
but not with the four kings.
Q: You are currently working on
the second book in the series, King of Spades. What can we expect from
this next book?
A: I’m excited to say that King of
Spades is finished! Alexi and Darronn’s relationship could best be
described as explosive. Fire with fire, which burns hotter when joined as
one. Darronn is used to getting his own way, to having all his orders
followed. Alexi has a fiery personality, and let’s just say she gives
Darronn a run for his money.
Q: Is there an expected release date
for King of Spades?
A: If all goes well, King of Spades
will hopefully be out at the end of September.
Now I’m working on
King of Diamonds with Annie and Karn, and having a lot of fun with this
pair. Their story is due out at the end of
October.

with us today about your newest release! Do you have any final words or
thoughts for your readers?
A: I just can’t thank everyone
enough for the response I’ve received to King of Hearts. I appreciate all
