A young woman in a planet of war, a young warrior that wants to keep his way of life alive, these two strong individuals highlight the books of Prophecy. These two novellas combine to give a startling and lush view of another time, another land and a love that is created out of the ashes of shattered lives.

In the first novella, Sesselja is taken from her planet to another land. Incarcerated and alone after the death of a beloved friend, she is startled when the prince of the land chooses her for slave. If only she knew that he has chosen her for mate instead of slave!

Kadar's father, the king, is dying. His most fervent wish is to see his son marry and give him grandchildren, so he steps up the process of finding Kadar a mate. Since Kadar has spurned any suggestions beforehand, the king is not hopeful that his son will find a mate. He is happily shocked and surprised to discover that Kadar has chosen the brave slave to be his own. But can the couple weather the storms that brew around them?

The second novella features Sean, a solider since he was a child. His admiral asks him to protect his daughter, fearing that the loyalist party might be under attack from within. He agrees out of loyalty to his long time superior but things take an alarming turn when Sean is ordered to arrest a prisoner that inhabits the same planet as the young woman. He quickly finds out that the prisoner and his Admiral's daughter are one in the same. Duty and desire collide as Sean tries to outrun the enemy and keep both of them alive.

The two novellas found in Prophecy were very gripping science fiction, but their shorter lengths left me feeling as if I had missed a lot. I would be interested in seeing a larger picture of these cultures.
