 1. What was the first S~G novel you read, and how did you encounter it?

It's very difficult to remember, but I think it may have been Rensime. I spotted it at a used book store.

What did you think of the a)cover,

Actually, the cover of the paperback Rensime that I found was actually fairly pretty, if not totally accurate.

 b)novel inside.

I enjoyed it enough to go looking for the others--it's neither my favorite, nor least favorite, in the series. It was well-written.

Why did you buy  it, or pick it off the library shelf?

I was intrigued by the idea of a vampiric symbiosis.

When did you read your second one?

That information has been lost to the sands of time.

Which one hooked you?

The first one I read. <g>

Which is your favorite?

It's a toss-up between First Channel and Ambrov Keon. I enjoyed the characterization, and the characters.

Your least favorite?  (and why)

Unto Zeor, Forever. I had trouble identifying with a character who went from miserable to completely miserable, and finally ended up resolving the situation in a state of unhappiness.

 2. When did you first find S~G fandom, and how and why?

I found it after I managed to acquire most of the books. I believe it was before Zelerod's Doom was published, actually. My memory of this is so bad, because I was 13 years old at the time. I purchased 2 or 3 of the fanzines.

Have you  introduced anyone else to this fandom?

I hope so--I've certainly tried. <g>

How long have you been involved and why so long?

16 years.....it's as appealing now as when I first read it. :)

3. If you've read any of the fan fiction, where did you first  discover that, and why did you read it (I mean FAN FICTION - UGH WHO WANTS TO  READ THAT STUFF -- oh, but oooooooohhhhhh this is different.)

The first stories I read were in fanzines, and unfortunately, my memory is rather hazy. I remember one about a Sime who was transported through time to an Ancient lab, and ended up killing himself. (My 13 year old mind found that horribly disturbing and unfair...<lol>). I discovered the existence of the fan-fic through the club listed in the back of some of the books.

4. Have you recommended S~G to any of your friends (and are they still  friends after that?) (did they steal your books and disappear?)

Everyone I think might like them...I haven't lost any of my books yet.

What kind of people do you recommend these books to? (Only sf fans?  Romance readers? Mystery fans? Star Trek fans? People who like certain TV shows? Which shows?)

Mostly to SF fans, vampire fans, and psis.

5. Do you keep a second set of books for loaners? Why?

I TRY to keep a second set of books for reading, so I can keep one in better condition, but I have not succeeded at this....I only had one extra copy of House of Zeor, and I gave that to a friend who was leaving town just recently...<lol>

 6. Who is your favorite character in the books? Your favorite fan-writer and character?

Favorite character...that's a tough one. Ummm...Risa Tigue? Favorite fan writer, Mary Lou Mendum, and Eskalie.

7. What other writers are on your favorites list?

Alan Dean Foster, Anne McCaffrey, James White, PN Elrod

Whose books do you shelve beside Sime~Gen?

I'm afraid I shelve them in alphabetical order by author's last name...with 3000 books in my collection, it's the only way to FIND anything....<lol>

Are you in touch with any other author-fandoms?  Which?

Hmmm....actually, no. I'd like to find one for James White (Sector General).
