The Sime/Gen books were one of the first series of books I ever read that
weren't children's books. I stumbled across "House of Zeor" at the age of 10
(1977, a few years after it came out in 1974) and was instantly hooked. I have
(I think) the whole series, and I re-read them all every few years; they are
some of my favorite comfort reading. The allegory for the struggle of human
rights in those books has shaped a great deal of the way I think as an adult.
