ndependence Hall.  You can hire the horse drawn carriage but don't trust the history lesson from the driver.  If you want accurate history, take a walking tour. You can  buy an excellent audio tape at the Norman Rockwell Museum in the basement of the Curtis Publishing building.  While you're there, visit the Maxfield Parrish- Tiffany mosaic "Dream Garden" upstairs.
This building used to be at the edge of town in a quiet area.  Thomas Jefferson came here to write the Declaration of Independence.
:The first congress met in this building.  The Senate met on the 2nd floor.  The House met on the first.  Now you know the origin of upper house and lower house, respectively.
City Hall.  This building took the lifetimes of two architects to complete.  The inside is just as ornate as the outside.  Free tours available on weekdays. The city is in the process of cleaning it.  See how much cleaner the top is than the side.
