CURRENT EVENTS

AZ21 is now available. $6.00 from Kerry. Those of you who are Sponsors and/or contributors should be getting your issue along with this newsletter. Kerry is now collecting material for AZ22. Karen is still working on CZ11. As usual, we are seeking Sponsors for both zines.

For those of you who are new to S/G fandom, this is how it works when you Sponsor the zines. Anyone who donates $10 or more to AZ or CZ will qualify as a Sponsor and will be listed on the Sponsors' Page, receiving a copy of the zine when it comes out autographed by both Jacqueline Lichtenberg and Jean Lorrah. Every Sponsor is also entitled to a thank-you gift. Your choice of either: the S/G Songbook, a mimeographed copy of "Channels' Exemption", a reprint of a photo of Jacqueline, or a copy of "Worlds of IF" with one of Kerry's stories. If you donate $20.00 or more, you will qualify as a 4+ Sponsor, being listed as such in the zine. 4+ Sponsors are invited to choose two gifts from the above list.

Please make checks payable to Kerry Lindemann-Schaefer and send to Kerry at the above address.

Those of you who received last year's newsletter will remember the Readers' Poll we held. Response was good. It was unanimously decided to divvy up some of the spare money in the Tape Project Fund between AZ and CZ, with the Wel receiving a small sum to go towards expenses. This has been done.

The second part of the poll determined the order in which several fan-written S/G novels should be printed as AZ-CZ Special Editions. Andrea Alton's ICY NAGER received the most votes, with Kerry's ONLY GOOD SIME coming in second. The possibility of a third novel by John Shimwell has been tragically eliminated by John's untimely death last December. Many of you will recall John as the compiler of the S/G Concordance. We are trying to make arrangements to keep the Concordance in print on a per-order basis.

Progress on ICY NAGER has been much faster than expected, thanks to Sheila Wenrich, the incomparable AZ typist. With luck, it may be out in a few more months. Cover price is expected to run between $13 and $15. SASE Kerry to be advised of availability.

Since this will put an additional strain on the zine coffers, we are seeking Sponsors for the Special Edition. Anyone who can find their way clear to donating $20 or more will get a copy autographed by Andrea and Jacqueline, plus any of the above-listed gifts, if desired. Over the years, our Sponsors have been the major factor in keeping the zines from dying of attrition. I have no words left to thank these generous folks: I've used them all up in previous efforts!

If you'd like to receive the next newsletter, please send Kerry a self-addressed, stamped envelope marked "News 93". Due to mailing costs, we can only send the Newsletter to SASE's, active fans, or new Welcommittee contacts. If you can't Sponsor, but would like to be advised when the next issue of any of the zines is published, send a SASE to the editor, marked with the issue number.

Unto Zeor, Forever!

Kerry and Karen
