Vantage Point News Addendum

Spring 1985

My life has become totally unpredictable. On February 10, 1985, I went to California again - this time because my father is very sick, and in the hospital with nobody else to take care of him.

I have no idea how long this trip will be - however, I'm still planning to get to the Conference on the Fantastic at the Beaumont Hilton in Beaumont, TX, Wednesday March 13 to Sunday March 17. After that, with any luck, I'll be back in New York.

I have taken the notes and partial first draft of OUTREACH, the third DUSHAU novel (which I would have written last September/October except that my mother died) with me, and hope to get some work done on it while on the road -- though I've never been able to accomplish such things before.

With this book overdue, and with my older daughter graduating HS and moving to college this summer, please understand why I can't make it to conventions this year. But I will try to travel more next year. Do keep in touch with the regularly irregular Vantage Point News for the list of cons I expect to make.

I hope the above also makes it clear why - if you've just written to me in New York - you may not get a direct answer. My computer, Chasdo, will be answering most mail with this VPN addendum. Items requiring my personal and extensive attention will be held. Items I may be able to deal with on the road will be forwarded. I can only hope that Anne, Katie, Gail or Debbie will be able to find time to process my incoming mail. Their lives are not any much more predictable than mine at the moment.

If they have little time, all you may get in answer to your query will be this note. Please forgive. And if you don't hear from me in a few months, do write again - anything can get lost in the mountains of unprocessed mail.

Live Long and Prosper,

Jacqueline Lichtenberg
