MOLT BROTHER: VOLUME ONE OF THE BOOK OF THE FIRST LIFEWAVE. Or rather, that's what I want to call this sequence of books. The second volume should be titled CITY OF A MILLION LEGENDS, and the third would be THE LAST PERSUADERS. MOLT BROTHER itself has been on the stands since March, and may already be unavailable in your local stores. Some libraries may be reluctant to purchase paperbacks--if so, tell them to check the review in LIBRARY JOURNAL. (That's my latest goshwow. LJ said, "A taught and suspenseful plot and intense characters make this a first-rate adventure.") Gail has copies of MOLT BROTHER still available. I have signed the contract for the second two books in the sequence, but Playboy hasn't signed yet, and Playboy Paperbacks has been sold to Berkeley/Jove. There's no way to predict the future of my paperbacks. Pray.

CHANNEL'S DESTINY: the sequel to FIRST CHANNEL, Doubleday Nov. 82. We haven't seen copyedited manuscript on this yet, but it is in production. Cover price ought to be $11.95, so it would be $13.25 when ordered from Gail (address above. Jean Lorrah will also be carrying copies, so for her prices SASE her at PO Box 625, Murray, KY 42071.) With all the upset over Playboy being sold, they have not yet bought the rights to CD for paperback.

MAHOGANY TRINROSE: the story of Digen's daughter, now out in Doubleday hardcover. The paperback is due from Playboy in August--let me know what you think of the cover! It's $2.50 cover price; $3.75 from Gail, includes mailer and autograph as always. For those who don't know, Gail is my older daughter.

HOUSE OF ZEOR: I've seen a dealer ask over $40 for a hardcover HoZ and get it! We are collecting SASEs from those interested in a hc reprint of HoZ, but we need lots more to get Doubleday to reprint it for us. There has been a German translation of it which I haven't seen, as well as a French one that's still selling, somewhere. And recently I've seen a Swedish review of HoZ and UNTO. Favorable, I think.

RENSIME: the next S/G novel contracted to Doubleday. I've finally completed a rough draft. This puts me, work-wise, at the place I was supposed to be at last June. I don't know if I'll be finishing this book this summer or going on to the Kren. See me at cons to get a chance to read the rough draft.

SIME/GEN WELCOMMITTEE will be delighted to hear from Kren-fen too--and they have a branch handling SAVAGE EMPIRE mail. If you want to meet other fen with your interests, SASE Rayna Daughtry, POB 176, Keeler CA 93530.

SONGS: The S/G songbook is not ready yet! Kerry Schaefer was in the midst of publishing it when she had to change jobs, and now she's had to move again because title couldn't be cleared on the house she was buying. Lesson: always pay for a title search! Insult to injury, her cat was killed, too, this month, and now it's summer, her busy season. The songbook will appear--there are too many people who want it badly. So if you're interested, SASE Kerry Schaefer--and let her know whether you want to read more about Frevven, her character in MY LIFE, MY TRUST, which you'll find in AMBROV ZEOR #13, now in the mails. If you haven't pre-ordered an AZ #13, I suggest you get around to it soon. Frevven has captured our hearts, and I don't expect this issue to remain available very long in its first printing. Kerry Schaefer, (street address removed), Provincetown, MA 02657.

ALSO ON TAPE: Much of the S/G, fanzine material has been taped for the blind and handicapped reader. For info, SASE Terry Terlau, (street address removed), Lexington, KY 40504. She'll tell you how many cassettes to send for copies. This project has made the Big Time. The Library of Congress TALKING BOOK TOPICS will probably carry a notice about it soon because so far all the S/G books have been put on tape or in braille. I am so very pleased!

SIME/GEN GAME: Lori Tartaglio and Janet Trautvetter are working on a role-playing game set in the S/G universe. The people working on EARTHCON CLEVELAND//SIME/GEN CON TWO (see below) are also developing one. For info SASE Janet Trautvetter, (street address removed), Rockville, MD 20852.

Prof-pub'd SHORT STORIES. HECATES'S CAULDRON, ed. by Susan Shwartz and containing stories by Jean Lorrah and me--plus Andre Norton, C. J. Cherryh and Katherine Kurtz, hit the Locus best seller list. NEW: SPECULATIONS (Houghton Mifflin hardcover, price $13.95/$15.25 when ordered from Gail, address above) has a story by me, plus stories by Zenna Henderson, Alan Dean Foster, Phyllis Gotlieb, Isaac Asimov, Joanna Russ, plus others you've heard of even more often. Look it up in your library and try to guess which one was my story. They've labeled the stories with coded bylines, and given you the code at the end of the book.

REGISTRAR OF HOUSEHOLDINGS: Register your Householding with Pat Munson-Siter. NOTE NEW ADDRESS: Pat Munson-Siter, c/o The Munsons, (street address removed), San Diego, CA 92120, Pat and family are coming back to the States. This is her permanent address. File a SASE for future Vantage Point News issues to keep up on addresses. For a list of registered Houses, SASE Rayna Daughtry, S/G Welcommittee (above).

SIME/GEN CONCORDANCE: Katie Filipowicz is still working on this sporadically. File SASE with her if you want this list/index of the S/G universe. Zeor Forum #4 is printed and about to hit the mail. #5 will print a chunk (about 25 pages) from the first draft of RENSIME. File SASE for #5 or order #4 ($2.50) from Katie Filipowicz, (street address removed), Spring Valley, NY 10977.

KRAITH COLLECTED: my Star Trek universe stories. For info on current volumes, SASE Carol Lynn, (street address removed), Detroit, MI 48205--and standby for a change in that address. The project to write the next Kraith story is coming along fine. To comment on what you'd like to see happen, write Mary Ann Drach, POB 485, Temple, ME 04984. Mary Ann also has info on how to get KC on tape for the blind.

UNDERSTANDING KRAITH: this is a good introduction to the Kraith Series, and works as a dictionary after you've begun reading Kraith. $1.00 plus postage from Judy Segal, (street address removed), Pawling, NY 12564. Judy is a literary agent.

SIME/GEN CON II: held in conjunction with EARTHCON CLEVELAND II, with Marion Zimmer Bradley and me as guests. Nov. 12-14, '82, at the Shaker House Motel, 3700 Northfield Rd., Warrensville Township, OH (a Cleveland suburb). MZB and I will be giving formal writers' workshops. For info SASE Earthcon Two, POB 22041, Beachwood, OH 44122. Programming ends with a S/G panel at 4 PM on Sunday.

July 9-11, '82, I will be at the ST/media/fantasy con SHORE LEAVE, at the Marriott Hunt Valley Inn, Hunt Valley, MD 21031. (301-666-7000). For more info SASE S.T.A.T. POB 10126, Towsen, MD 21204.

Sept. 2-6, '82, Jean Lorrah and I will be at Chicon IV, the World SF Convention, in Chicago, IL. I'll probably be doing a Tarot Workshop. Look us up. For con info SASE Chicon IV, POB A 3120, Chicago, IL 60690.

Nov. 26-28, '82, Darkover Grand Council V. Marion Zimmer Bradley, Katherine Kurtz, Hannah Shapero, plus a GoH. Jean Lorrah and I will also be there. Radisson Wilmington Hotel, 700 King St., Wilmington DE 19301. For membership info SASE Jaelle Lanart-Alton, (street address removed), Newark, DE 19711.

CONSTELLATION, the 41st World SF Con, Baltimore, MD, Sept. 1-5, 1983. (POB 1046, Baltimore MD 21203). Membership $20 attending until 6/30/82. Rates will go up after that. SASE them for info. Jean and I plan to be at this one, too.

1984: Jan. 13-15: ESOTERICON. MZB, Katherine Kurtz, and I will be GoHs at this first con devoted to all Occult Sciences. It will probably be at the same hotel as recent Lunacons have been at. Info: SASE Anne Pinzow, POB 290, Monsey, NY 10952.

COMPANION IN ZEOR #8 is on hold. Karen's husband has been job hopping again, and unemployment has eaten up funds. They have plenty of material--but are always accepting stories for future issues. SASE Karen Litman, (street address removed), Somers Pt, NJ 08244. If you can help with CZ, please volunteer.

URGENTLY RECOMMENDED: Two authors have surfaced worthy of your attention. Look up Lee Killough's books, all titles, and try to get some of them. She writes much the way I might like to if I could. Then try THE TIME OF THE DARK from Del Rey in paperback by Barbara Hambly. I think you might like to write Barbara. Her address is POB 5294, Riverside, CA 92517. We have a letter from her to print.

JEAN LORRAH is working on CAPTIVES OF THE SAVAGE EMPIRE, the third book.
