Strictly speaking not all of the photos on this page are from the first Faith Day ceremony November 1987. That year I took a 6 week vacation to visit other S~G fans. I started out at Karen Litman's. From there I went to a writer's workshop in Harrisburg, PA where I met Jacqueline for the first time. After the workshop I went home with her for a few wonderful days. Kerry and I then went to here home on cape cod for a few days. After that it was Darkover and the first ever Faith Day Ceremony sponsered by Householding Chanel. After that I went home with Kerry Lindeman-Shaefer for one final week before returning to the mundane world.
So, I've included a few photos from the workshop and my time with Karen and Kerry that you might find of interest. (if you want to elicit a groan from Jacqueline ask her about the candles. Giggle! I decided late in the afternoon the day before leaving for the con to totally revamp the Faith Day Ceremony. This touched off a frantic search for candles of just the right color. Colored candles weren't as readily available in those days as they are now.)
The format was incredibly simple. First we had a candle light ceremony in which each Sectuib present lit a candle and spoke a few words about her House. Then Chanel and Takear accepted new pledges. Alger was present but I don't remember if Donell had any pledges that year or not. Lastly we did the first ever Digen Farris Awards, Kerry was given a Channel of the Year award and Jacquline was presented with a Zeor Teddy Bear. Then it was gifts of food for the gens and party time.

Karen and Kerry light candles while I watch. Kerry was representing Zeor. I _think_ Karen, as Second in Chanel was holding the Chanel candle since I was presiding. Linda Whitten is in the background.
Jacqueline wrapped me in her cloak at some point.
This is the "official" group photo. From left to right Donell Meadows, Linda Whitten, Karen Litman, Bruce Adams, Jacqueline, Marge Robbins, Anne Pinzow.
I am awarding Jacqueline the Digen Farris Award. Katie Fillipowitz-Steinhoff, founder of Zeor Forum is in the background.
Kerry and some of her eggs. The year before I had visited Kerry and baked her a birthday cake. However she had no eggs. So when I wrote my "report to the Tecton" I reported that sad fact. For the next year poor Kerry was innundated with eggs and egg jokes of all kinds.
Donell and Linda. I wonder what the joke is.
Jacqueline at the Writer's Workshop in Harrisburg.
Jacqueline and her mentor Marion Zimmer Bradley.
Also at the workshop. Kerry and MZB. Meeting that lady was a nice bonus.
Susy Sime, the Zeor Staff car attended by Karen and her husband Bruce. Susy has since been through a flood, but I have it from a reliable source that she is still very active in service to the Ancient Tecton.
This is actually from my 1986 visit to Kerry. I baked her an egg shaped birthday cake.
