<MargeR> Welcome everybody to Chanel and what I can only term a parade of ceremonies.

<MargeR> Tonight is the first time in years that all members and prospective members of chanel in the ancient Tecton are in the place if only virtually

* KLitman walks to the front of the room, standing beside Marge

* MargeR lights a large light orange candle

<MargeR> This flame which burns continuously stands for the many martyrs in the cause of eliminating the Kill. It is a universal, eternal flame shared by the many Houses who stand firmly against the kill and are willing to do whatevver it takes to eliminate it. From the time of Rimon Farris and the founding of Zeor ever hous has made a contribution to this flame. Chanel's offering to the Eternal Flame is that of Service. Simes and Gens need to learn to live together in harmony, serving one another in equal partnership. Then and only then can we hope to

<MargeR> The eternal flame of course comes from the Fiction Sime Gen universe we all love so well.

<KLitman> many of us have created Houses in the "Ancient Tecton" in the present time as it

<KLitman> would relate to the fictional Sime Gen world they created. Householding Chanel is one such House

<KLitman> Created by Marge Robbins Ambrov Chanel as a House of Service it became a living entity

<KLitman> Many people pledged to Chanel and followed Marge's dream and example. I was honored to be named First Companion in Chanel to assist with this vision.

<KLitman> When Marge found a calling in real life to serve others through Disaster Relief in the Red Corss

<KLitman> her time was too occupied for Chanel. As First Companion I closed the House to new members therefore

<KLitman> keeping the House alive along with it's virtue. In my heartI knew Chanel was an echo of myself but truly Marge's. I made it known that when marge

<KLitman> returned to us she would once again hold Chanel --- which was her right.

<KLitman> Jacqueline reminded me of my duty as First Companion to hold Chanel in trust for Marge and I have done so for some time

<KLitman> When Marge came back to us and asked me for the return of Chanel to her loving hands, I did so

<KLitman> without question

<KLitman> But now with our friends present it is time to return Chanel formally to it's founder...the keeper of Chanel's soul if you will...

<KLitman> So Marge -- back into your loving heart and hands goes your peecious Householding Chanel

<KLitman> I hope I have kept it safe for you and as you left it.

<MargeR> Karen I am very grateful that you have held the house safely all these years.

* MargeR lights a red Candle and sets it in a holder next to the eternal flame.

<MargeR> Chanel's virtue is service to the world in general and Sime~Gen fandom specifically.

<MargeR> Many Houses have been created by fans. One such is N E L A R Y N created by Karen

<MargeR> Nelaryn shares our virtue of service and goes further Assisting in research, completion of tasks, investigation

<MargeR> Today Chanel is recognizing Nelaryn as a worthy daughter House to Chanel and by extension

<MargeR> a granddaughter to Zeor.

<MargeR> I further recognize Karen Litman as sectuib and First Channel in Nelaryn.

* KLitman lights a light brown candle

* MargeR turns to Cherri. We have a Zeor member here. Cherri would you like to light a candle for Zeor the first Householding in both the Sime Gen universe and the Ancient Tecton?

* Cherri lights the brilliant blue candle which is of Zeor's.

<Cherri> This is the light, the heart, the beginning. Zeor puts its trust in its daughter house Chanel and in its ganddaughter House of Nelaryn. Unto Zeor, Forever.

<MargeR> Thank you Cherri. Zeor offers a noble tradition for us to follow.

<MargeR> Now we come to my favorite part of the proceedings, welcoming new members.

<MargeR> Cheryl would you please come up here please.

* Cheryl` walks up to Marge

* MargeR puts a red Chanel cape around Cheryl's shoulders.

* KLitman pulls out the pledge cloth

* Cheryl` cries

* KLitman hands pledge cloth to marge

<MargeR> When I returned to Chanel after a long absence It was a pleaurse to renew old friendships but an even bigger pleasure to meet new ones.

<MargeR> Cheryl has in a very short time become not only a dear friend but a vital force in chanel.

<MargeR> It is with great pleasure and a full heart that I today extend to her an invitation to join Chanel in the Ancient Tecton

* Cheryl` kneels and taking her Sosectu's hands, pledges

* MargeR gestures to the red cushion on the floor

* MargeR takes Cheryl's hands

<Cheryl`> Unto the House of Chanel, I pledge my life, my hopes and dreams, my substance and my children. And unto the Sosectu in Chanel I pledge my everlasting love and my heart, my trust and undying loyalty, as I serve the House by serving others. Unto Chanel forever.

<MargeR> Unto Cheryl ambrov Chanel I pledge my trust, my substance and the love

* MargeR puts a chanel ring on Cheryls finger and raises her to her feet.

* Cheryl` squeezes marge's hands, glowing.

<MargeR> I haven't known Jayelithe for very long but she too is a vital part of what Chanel is and what it can be.

* KLitman hands Marge the pledge cloth once again

* MargeR guestures to the cushion.

* Jayelithe kneels on cushion

* MargeR holds out her hands to Jayelithe

* Jayelithe takes MargR's hands, smiling

* MargeR nods to Jayelith to speak the words of the pledge
