Story Outline

Conflict: Mouse wants to escape Cat - and keep cheese. Cat wants to catch Mouse.
Mouse is protagonist.

  1. Mouse has a piece of cheese in his paws, and is heading for his hole. A shadow blocks the light, and he looks up and sees Cat leaping for him. He skitters to one side.
  2. Cat lands between Mouse and Mouse's hole. Mouse runs for it, and makes it to a safer place - under a chair.
  3. Cat lurks, and pokes under the chair for Mouse. Mouse clings to his bit of cheese and tries to duck further under the chair - but the cheese prevents him somehow (too big and hard to get under the wooden rim?). Cat keeps poking.
  4. Mouse abandons the cheese, and moves under the chair to the other side. He lets his tail show. Cat heads for the tail.
  5. Mouse scurries back for the cheese, and grabs it while running for his hole. Cat sniffs for Mouse at the wrong side of the chair, then spots him and chases.
  6. Mouse is slowed down by his cheese, and gets caught just barely in front of the hole. Caught by the tail.. SQUEEEAKK! Cat puts a paw in front of Mouse, and starts playing - as cats are wont to do.
  7. Mouse bites Cat's paw, and throws the cheese in his eye (hey, this is a morality play, not a realistic story). Cat screams in pain and lifts his paw. Mouse runs for it and gets home!
