 Well I'm not sure if anyone is actually going to show up,. but yes if the other class doesn't need you. I could use the help.

 Bonnee told me that they prefer to run their groups in a free-for-all type format.
 I did that last time in here. My class is small and it worked.  But if things get out of hand. having some rules does help.

 So, I might as well help you for now. I'm logging already

 Frames are actually fairly simple once you get the basic concept planted in your brain.

 I learned basic html by stealing code. Works great

 I'll tell you a secret. I've been doing web pages for about 7 years. Only recently have I started doing completely from "scratch" pages.

 Until you have to troubleshoot - eventually we do have to learn what we are doing.

 I've never tried an editor. Used to do all my own websites. Notebook & sweat

 Frontpage Express did pretty good, except "Express"=underpowered, hobbled teaser!

 So far, I have been able to do anything I wanted (i.e., knew how to ask for) in Arachnophilia.

 I've heard that Arach is a fairly good proggie

 Any text editor is better than a GUI, but IMHO, arach is the best 

 It's the only thing I use With one exception. IF I'm setting up complicated tables I use MSword. Then cut and past to an Arach file.

 Table code does confuse me.

 I build my own puter systems and I'm in school for my MCSE degree, but code scares me. :))

 I used lots of 'copy & paste' on my page (and my bitty table)

 Hardware makes me shiver.

 Hardware's ok --> as long as you control the "OFF" (I hate networks)

 Hard/Software is the easy part. 

 When I ran my BBS, I think I was the only sysop in town totally dependant on a consultant

 Today I never ever work on my 'puter. 

 I follow directions pretty good (adding & subtracting components)

 But I don't try to fix anything that "smokes"

 Once I fried an HD by unplugging it from the motherboard without grounding it first. Since then I refuse to touch the innards.

 No you call your tech support hundreds of miles away and ask them to help you.

 Well our scheme is different. Now you can use whatever file names you want since we don't have to worry about you guys overwriting each others' work

 the geeks who wrote HTML in the first place.

 Since I'm not getting a lot of questions may I assume that you have mastered all the lessons and fully understand the basics of html?

 In WS_FTP try right clicking on the remote filename and see if there is an option in that to rename after uploading

 I used WS for years and just got Cute 2 months ago. I will never use WS again

 Both are good. Cute is probably easier for a novice to use. I prefer ws_ftp probably because I "grew up" with it

 Cute has that directory comparison function that is awesome to use

 Just a few things now that I see how you run your classes. JL said to create this position, but I will not step on any toes in doing it.

 My ideas are:

 htmlclass channel should be you and me as Ops. I can then moderate it. ie. set chan so only you can speak.

 All questions would be cut and pasted by me to the class chan from the chat chan

 That's how we did essence of story. I moderated those chats

 How did it work out?

 That's good if you have a large class. This one is so small I didn't see a need for it.

 With a lot of people it's the only way to go. With just a handful I don't tbink it's necessary

 Essence of story had about 10 students show up each time.

 I assumed your class is usually much bigger. I thought Easter kept them all away.

 No we started out with 7 or 8 but most dropped out. Probably because I kept vanishing into the woodwork

 This fall's intermediate HTML should go better.

 Oh ok. We can make any decisions as we go then. I just want to be sure you know I'm not out to hinder. I'm just a helper.

 I know that. And I'm very glad you volunteered.
