It had been his intent to face the dawn. Julian, one of the most powerful of his race. He had just one final task, warn the human singer, Desari, that she was in danger from the vampire hunters. Julian steps into the bar where Desari is performing and finds much more than he anticipates. Desari is much more than she seems. An ancient Carpathian female, and most importantly, Julians lifemate. His match in all ways, the light to his darkness. What truly sets this novel apart from Christine Feehan's previous Carpathian novels is Desari. For the first time the reader truly experiences the power of the Carpathian woman. Julian is faced with not only the dangers of the vampire, but he must also come to realize that Desari is very powerful in her own right. truly enjoyed seeing Julian receive his commupence, upon numurous occassions. Desari has lived her life believing that she and her companions where the last of their race. At first she is unprepared for Julian, and everything that he represents. But as the story progresses, Desari shows great strength and wisdom. Christine Feehan is, in this reviewers opinion, the Queen of the paranormal romance. Each novel is filled with everything a reader could possibly want. Passion, adventure, Mystery. Dark Challenge is a wonderfully crafted story that is meant to be read then reread. My suggestion, by 2 copies. One to read and the other to put into safe keeping. One word of warning here. Once you open the book and begin reading, there is NO putting it down! So I heartilly give Dark Challenge 5 stars and am very inpatiently awaiting the next Carpathian novel. |
