| Stuff to Die for by Don Bruns introduces the unforgettable duo of James Lessor and Skip Moore. Written in the first person by Skip, the humor is biting and first-class and the storyline plausible. These two best friends start a hauling business (compliments of an inheritance left James) in the Miami area and get their first job from an acquaintance of Skip’s on-again, off-again rich girlfriend, Em.
Unfortunately, neither James nor Skip has ever driven a large truck, let alone any vehicle with only side mirrors to use for backing up; and, to add to the fun, the friend’s boxes included a little present, a severed finger!
The rest of the story is a sometimes funny, sometimes serious romp involving these two heroic, non-heroes in an adventure that includes anti-Castro "invaders" and the CIA.
A great new duo. What’s their next adventure, Don? | | |
