| Will Miranda finally have a horse of her own? This very intertaining work of art would make a superb read-aloud book for the classroom and discussion groups. It is a wonderfully written, fast-paced adventure. Even though Miranda is very afraid, she shows she cares for Starlight. She tries to conceal him from his owner, Mr. Taylor, after she overhears him talking to the hired hand and thinks he is trying to get rid of Starlight. Is he?
The intrigue will seize you when an injurious fellow tries to harm Miranda. Why does he want to hurt her? Through all of the danger, Starlight shows strong feeling. The suspense keeps the reader wondering and following along page after page to see what Starlight will do next to protect Miranda. Will the evil man destroy both Starlight and Miranda?
Author Janet Muirhead Hill gives her characters real humanistic feelings in suspense-filled situations. To observe how each character will respond and act to each dilemma, read Starlight's Courage and follow Miranda and Starlight as both risk their lives to save each other. | | |
