She has skillfully woven in various historical events, such as the American Civil War and the gunfight at the OK Corral, to add to the verisimilitude. Her invented character of Isabella is a fully-developed person with good and bad points, quite believable. The reader will sometimes sympathize with her sometimes hate her. Anyone interested in the vampire stories of writers such as Anne Rice and Chelsea Quinn Yarbro will enjoy this.
