Price: $12.95 | This is a novel inspired by the author's own travels. It's a short book but tells quite a startling story. The young female of the title travels in Southeast Asia as far west as India. She's backpacking alone and staying in cheap hostels and worse. The experiences she has are definitely not the kind I would want. She meets many people on her trip -- some unsavory, some more ordinary, some quite nice. Her journey is one of self-discovery, and she seems to have achieved quite a bit of that by the end of her trip.
It is an enjoyable read, but the book is short. The reader is left wanting more. The book could have been fleshed out more with descriptions and analysis, but it's a good first effort. | | |
