Price: $14.00 | Mary E. Trimble brings her characters to life in Rosemount. The characters fairly jump off the page in this excellently written story of a young teenage girl living on a ranch in Washington State.
Leslie Cahill's life is perfect, even though she lost her mother in an automobile accident when she was very young. She still has the love of her father, older brother, and the housekeeper who has been at the ranch seemingly forever. Leslie loves the ranch that is her home. The outdoor life of the ranch suits her. She doesn't even really mind helping her older bother with the chores while school is out for summer vacation. Helping her brother gives her the chance to ride her beloved horse out on the open range, even though, in typical teenage fashion, she just has to gripe a little about having to do chores. Leslie would rather be doing things with her friends, whom she has known all her life, or playing her piano.
Leslie's world starts to fall apart when her father announces that she is being shipped off to boarding school. Boarding school!? The last thing Leslie wants to do is leave the life she loves so well. At the annual Fourth of July picnic at the ranch, Leslie believes she has discovered why her father wants to get rid of her. What in the world will Leslie do? It might as well be the end of the world if she has to leave the ranch and go off to boarding school. It is the end of Leslie's world.
Mary E. Trimble's Rosemount will keep you turning those pages till the very end. You simply will not be able to lay it down.
This reviewer gives Rosemount 5 Stars. It is a "must have" in any library. | | |
