Firecracker Jones, better known as “F”, has never thought he’d have a friend like Ted Packard or that Ted would now be missing. When Ted’s family unexpectedly moves without a even simple good-bye, “F” is devastated and sets out to find the reason for his friend's untimely disappearance.
With some ingenious detective work, “F” uncovers Ted’s new address and sets out on a daring adventure that reveals not only Ted’s new location but also the shocking facts that have led to that move.
Christopher Klim's book is appropriately geared toward adolescents through its adolescent language and ability to look inside a teenage boy's mind. I found the story line well written and entertaining but had more of a sense of being involved in an adventure than a mystery.
Christopher accurately displays the bonds developed by young boys and the span of loyalty that true friends share.
I rated the book 4 stars on a scale of one to five and feel it is a worthwhile read for teen and pre-teen boys who are seeking a good adventure.
