Some struggle through heart-aches and friendships that may never last, while others may turn from friendship to romance. Which ones will find their answers first? Which ones will fail in the process?
The story opens with Jaclyn shouting to Katie to wait up for her in the hallway at school. She begins by talking about the homecoming and that Brian had asked her to go with him. But as the story unfolds, Alan and Jaclyn are dating. Katie and Alan are very best of friends, and he was going to take her to the homecoming. But as Alan shows up and begins to confront Jaclyn about Brian, he and Jaclyn begin to argue. Will Katie and Brian decide to go to the homecoming together? Will Jaclyn and Alan get jealous of Katie and Brian or each other?
The author well deserves a five star for this one -- the way she brings these teenagers to life, stirs the emotions. It's as though she is telling her own story. Some emotions are awakened that have slept for years, as couples realize which person is meant for whom, and why it took so long to find out.
One very good point that was mentioned in the story is the way the author had one of the characters explain the different kinds of love and how each one will effect a person through life. It was so enlightening. I found this book very moving. Through some parts, the reader is swept away and taken back through childhood days. The author painted pictures through wonderful words and actually made me cry. | | |
