After reaching Ambassador Horvat by phone, Rizler was to meet her at a dinner she was having the following Saturday and give a speech on Mozart. The competition was to be the Rolling Stones benefit concert. Michaelman, not knowing Rizler's arrival was early, heard Mrs. Rizler yell into the phone. So the race was on as he hurried toward the airport. Fighting heavy traffic in Prague.
Arthur and his wife arrive in Prague and are given the penthouse suite. The decor dates from the early '50s. While the two are there, something starsd happening to Rizler. Spots or discoloration begins to appear in odd shapes on Arthur's skin. Will he make it to the dinner? Who or what might get in his way during his stay there?
Robrt Howse put a small twist of suspense at the end of Mozart: A Novel. I loved it! It caught me by surprise. Good job, Howse! As the story started, it made the mind go back to the movie My Fair Lady, except this story was about a gentleman and how he got his start. Then as it deepened, I needed to know what was going to happen next. A good page turner. The book Mozart: A Novel well deserves four stars. | | |
