Christmas Tales and Treats by Christina Lewis is a most unusual book. I call it unique because it contains a colouring book, festive recipes, and a parents' book-buying guide for children.

The colouring book, containing twelve Christmas-type pictures for younger children, is printer-friendly.

The twenty-four mouth-watering recipes contain delicious ideas for snacks, cookies, cakes, a Gingerbread loaf, a cheese dip, drinks, Christmas cupcakes, a special Christmas pudding, Christmas ice-cream, and decorations, including a popcorn Christmas tree and non-edible spicy Christmas ornaments. You will never have to go madly searching again for your Christmas recipes. All the recipes are family-type treats that can be easily made by adults with their children.

The parents' book-buying guide contains twelve summaries of Christmas stories suitable for children that can be bought or perhaps in some cases borrowed from the library. I would suggest, if you can't afford to buy the books, that you read out the summaries to your family and have each person act out the story, while the whole family makes it up as you go along. What fun to sit around with Christmas music playing while you drink and eat some of the snacks and drinks you've made from the recipes, and play the game "What if . . . ?" from the summaries!

Christina Lewis has written similar books for other holidays. Check out her website listed below for more information.
