King Ar-Ion, ruler of the Ra-Jee elves, believes something is
lacking
with his people even though peace, contentment, and prosperity reign. He
knows his people lack spirit, which could doom the race. When his wife
gives birth to a golden hair daughter, Ar-Ion feels Princess Ra-May will
provide the spark missing among his people as he is convinced that she
is a "child of the gold" as defined by the ancient crystal.

At the infant's coming out ceremony, an elderly elf Del-a-Shar attacks
immobilizing the king. Ar-Ion's best friend Ra-Nu takes Ra-May with him
and is sent into a safe forest where there seems to be no entrance or
exit. Ra-May raises Ra-Nu, who contains the rare soul magic within her
heart. He knows one day she will return to the land of the Ra-Jee, but
he does not know whether he will still be living, what she will find
after the devastation of Del-a-Shar, or will anyone help her?

ELFEN GOLD is a compelling fantasy that will make Sheri L. McGathy a
household name among genre fans. The story line is fast-paced and filled
with magic, but the heroine is still allowed time to fully develop as a
character so that readers can appreciate her quest. Clearly the magic's
in the words as readers will believe in elven realms as described by Ms.
McGathy, who is either a descendant or an honored visitor of the
Ra-Jee.
