Humans are not alone on earth. Majerians share the planet. The
species
lives for thousands of years and act as protectors of the humans.
Centuries ago Trayjon lent his guardian talisman to his best friend
Dante, who abused the powerful device. This misuse led to the death of
the parents of Trayjon's betrothed. Unable to face what his neglect
caused, Trayjon fled without speaking with his future wife, the
preadolescent and future guardian Arianna. Over the years he watched her
grow up from a distance and yearned to hear her say she forgives and
loves him.

Arianna lives among the humans working as a guardian while running a
medical clinic. Don, a Majerian, begins to court Arianna. She remains
hesitant because she feels his darker nature beneath his handsome
smiling visage. At the same time she senses Trey and actually confronts
him in a friendly manner. As Trey and Arianna begin to fulfill their
destiny as soul mates, Don, who is actually Dante, escaped from the void
through the aid of a demon Gulil, plans to steal both their guardian
talismans.

EYES OF THE JACKAL is an excellent romantic fantasy that makes the
possibility of another humanoid race living amidst Homo sapiens seem
plausible. The story line provides insight into a different culture
within our own and the tale also contains plenty of action and two
strong lead characters. Fans of speculative romance and fantasy will
delight in Joni Latham's powerful tale and want more novels starring the
Majerians.
