Those books are chosen mostly for readers -- in Keybooks you find items of
specific interest to writers and those who want to know how we produce all these
wonderful stories. And check out my own vampire romance forthcoming

Pay attention to who publishes a book -- and any
imprint that indicates who edits the line. Chances are good if you
like a book from a given publisher/line, you will like other books from
that line. And chances are even better you'd be able to sell a
book to that editor.

. . . but when Rae is with Simeon, everyone
and everything else fades into the background, including the creepy
souvenir Rae brought back from her Egyptian vacation.
Rae was warned the deck of tarot cards was dangerous. She was told to
throw the cards into the sea, to not look upon them lest she set free
evil spirits. The psychic she consults insists that the dark spirit of
the Tarot has taken form as one of the men in Rae's life.
Much of the action in Jackson's (The Selkie)
paranormal romance takes place in a city that seems just like
present-day Detroit, with one difference: this Motor City is home to an
underground nightmare city populated by refugee goblins expelled from
Europe. Though seemingly grateful for their new world haven, the
foul-smelling goblins have in fact secretly replaced the nation's
leading industrialists, including Bill Gates more

Owens' third romance set on the plant Celta,
originally settled by Wiccans, brings together a healer and a warrior.
Healer Lark Collinson, widowed when her husband got in the way of
dueling great families, wants to move away from her father, the head of
the Hawthorn family. He is set on dueling with the Hollys, who are known
for more.

This is also a mystery-thriller! Mixed Genre - my
favorite thing.
Amazon is convinced C. J. Barry writes like me --
or maybe I write like her? Well, following the "Explore
Similar Items" link from Molt
Brother or Those
of My Blood, I keep running into Barry and Owens - so maybe you'll
like them too.
This book is part of a very successful series of a
paranormal romance all about a descendent of Aphrodite who has been
invited to become a superhero. What is so fascinating here is that
the romance field has dared to explore where sf/f refused to go -- mixed
genre.
Bookstores regard these books as mixed genre --
they aren't actually. They are Intimate
Adventure.
Little by little, though amazon.com is conquering
the problem of bringing readers to these kinds of books.
Watch my review
column for occasional discussions of not only Intimate Adventure but
also any and every kind of book with a strange twist.

"I play hero to thousands, but am
known to none. And I love every minute of it.
Or so I thought until one night when I woke up handcuffed to my worst
nightmare: a conservative woman in a button-down shirt. Or in Amanda's
case, buttoned all the way up to her chin. She's smart, sexy, witty, and
wants nothing to do with the paranormal-in other words, me."

Here's a Romance for the
non-Romance Reader -- it's a Historical with all the gilt and trappings of
life among the Nobility.
Student writers who hate Romance should at the very least
read this book's reviews then the sample pages posted. Analyze this
book, reduce it to its components and you'll find the underlying
formula. Once you have that formula, translate it into your own
favorite genre and as an exercise write an identical book -- make sure to
adhere to chapter length, sentence length and vocabulary
patterns.
It is exercises like this that produce that wondrous easy
of performance you will exhibit when you then tackle your own personal
material. Remember the motto of the WorldCrafters
Guild - "Writing is a Performing Art" -- and to perform you
must practice.
In Sunlight, handsome alien Micah is
trapped on Earth after he crash lands and falls in love with beautiful
woman, while in Moonlight, the vampire Navarre seeks for a woman
brave enough to enter his world.
