The overall theme of the Boxmaster Universe stories is "Mass Migration is an unstoppable force." These novels take place over many thousands of years in a galaxy (ours) being overrun from outside by displaced survivors of catastrophe. These "invaders" are in fact not invaders but refugees. They can NOT GO BACK. They are not here by choice. They are desperate, numerous, and technologically more advanced (slightly). The sub-themes for each novel revolve around the emotions and ethics involved in being helpless in the face of macro-evolutionary forces.

Earth ventures out into interstellar space only to find there is a going civilization out there already. Centuries later, humans are living on almost all planets, and are into every kind of endeavor there is. This is an sf universe -- where the magic that works best is based on science of some sort. But each species has many traditional religions, many faiths, and many magical traditions. People have learned not to scoff (too loudly) at the beliefs and practices of others. |

This series has not been tested commercially. It is aimed at the mid-40's age people and older -- people who loved sf when they were kids but stopped reading because the sf/f field aims mostly at teens. This is sf for adults who have out-grown action/adventure and prefer more substance with their fiction.
