A Short Biography of Susan Bartlett
Who am I?
I'm a former romance author trying to get back into the
swing of things. I'm married, and have a wonderful daughter.
My old romances were written back in my naive youth. By
today's standards, I guess you could call them "Scooby
Doo" Romance/Mysteries. My biggest seller was
"Curse of the Mummy's Tomb".
The basic plot was: A young female American archaeologist is
working at an Egyptian dig. She has a "crush" on the
Assistant to the Senior American Archaeologist, until a mysterious
stranger, in the form of an Egyptian liaison, comes into her life.
After discovering an unusual artifact in an old tomb, mysterious
things begin happening in the camp. Many clues point to a Mummy's
curse that has overtaken the party. Events indicate that a real
Mummy may be stalking the crew. This causes our heroine to seek
solace in the arms of the liaison. After the death of the senior
archaeologist, the party eventually tracks down the real cause of
the events - an Egyptian man who wants the artifacts to remain in
Egypt instead of being placed in an American museum. She uses these
events to help her decide that she does not want to spend the rest
of her life in Egypt with the liaison - just in time for the Assistant
to propose to her due to his advancement into the (now deceased)
Senior Archaeologist's position.
I want to start writing again - and heavily revise my old
stories. I couldn't tell the types of stories I wanted to tell
when I was originally writing. I wanted to have real Mummies,
and real ghosts, and real monsters. Now, with the popularity of
the new Gothic Horror Romance, I can write the stories I want.
My daughter is grown now and I have lots of time on my hands.
You will hear from me again.
By the way, if you find any of my old romances on the shelf
anywhere, let me know. I lost my only copies during a move and
have none of my old books to go by. |
